ABOUT US
Creating a world for kids to thrive and grow

Kirsten Close
Kirsten is a Play Therapist and Social Worker with a genuine passion for supporting children, young people, and families. With a warm, approachable, and down-to-earth style, she meets each child and young person where they are—emotionally, developmentally, and at their own pace.
Kirsten offers both play therapy for children and tailored therapeutic support for adolescents, ensuring each young person receives care that feels right for their stage of development.
“I believe children communicate through play, and when they’re given the freedom to express themselves in their own way, healing and growth can happen naturally. For young people, having a safe space to talk, reflect, and feel understood is just as important. Whether you’re just starting to explore therapy or have been on this journey for a while, I’m here to walk alongside you and your family every step of the way.”
Kirsten’s Experience
Kirsten holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Studies, a Master of Social Work, and a Master of Child Play Therapy, she is also a registered member of the Australasia Pacific Play Therapy Association (APPTA). She brings extensive experience having worked across child protection, youth justice and therapeutic settings, supporting children, young people, and families through a range of emotional and life challenges.

What we offer
A safe, nurturing, and supportive space where children and young people can explore their feelings, express themselves authentically, discover their strengths, and build the skills they need to navigate life with confidence.
Alongside this, we offer a specialised parent support program designed to strengthen the parent–child relationship. By supporting parents to better understand their child’s emotional world, respond with confidence, and build deeper connection through guided strategies and therapeutic insights, we create lasting change that extends beyond the therapy room.
This collaborative approach empowers both children and their caregivers, fostering secure relationships, resilience, and a strong foundation for lifelong wellbeing.

Our Approach
We work alongside families with warmth, respect, and trust. We believe in strong, collaborative relationships and support parents and caregivers with practical tools and guidance, so they feel confident supporting their child or young person beyond the therapy space.
Our Mission
To support the emotional wellbeing and resilience of children and young people through developmentally responsive, relationship-based therapy, allowing them to grow and develop with confidence, build a strong sense of self, and navigate life’s challenges with increasing independence and emotional understanding.

Why It Matters
For children, play is a powerful and natural way to process experiences and support healing. For young people, having a space to be heard and understood can be transformative in building insight, confidence, and emotional regulation.
Our Hope
To empower children and young people to understand themselves, build resilience, and feel confident in who they are—while supporting families to foster connection, wellbeing, and positive relationships at home.
